This datasets contains measures of soil thaw depth from permafrost in subarctic Canada. Soil thaw depth was measured in 2013 and 2014 in sites from Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Provenance & quality

Measurements of thaw depth were performed using a robust metallic graduated probe next to the locations where soil respiration was measured (see dataset of autotrophic and heterotrophic respiration). The probe was inserted into the soil to the point at which it was impeded by frozen soil. The depth was then recorded in cm.
